What Makes Abby Different?
There are many choices when it comes to investing in private portraiture. With Abby, your family is always her priority. From your first inquiry all of your contact will always be directly with Abby and unlike many studios, Abby is the only photographer. All of the work on her website is a direct representation of what to expect from your own family photo shoot. There are no time constraints on your photo session and Abby is always available to discuss ideas, answer questions and collaborate to make sure your photos satisfy your vision. Each experience is unique and special and sessions are relaxed and fun for your family. Abby is silly and playful and able to get real smiles and moments. Her photos have energy and showcase your child's spirit. A professionally trained photographer, Abby is committed to turning your family photos into artistic memories.
How long will your session last?
Sessions typically run anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours. Abby will not rush your child as she wants to capture the best of your child. She also makes time for breaks, small snacks and of course, breastfeeding mothers.
Choosing clothing is a big part of creating your portraits. If you'd like your photos to be timeless please avoid logos, pictures or other images that may distract attention from your child or your family. The most successful portraits combine simple colors, patterns and/or textures. Bare feet are always adorable. Please feel free to bring a few outfits as we can do clothing changes. Abby can also go over clothing choices with you to help you decide what will work best to create your beautiful images.
Newborns are best photographed during their first two weeks of life. During this time they are fragile, sleepy and their little bodies curl up tightly. It is a fleeting time and won't last long. If you want to capture this special time please contact Abby before your due date. She always tries to make room in her schedule for babies this young as she realizes there is a very small window of opportunity to capture your baby when he/she is brand new.
On the day of your session please allow at least 2 hours. I ask that just one parent come to the session, unless parents are to be photographed with children. Please do not bring personal assistants, grandmas, nannies or friends. And only siblings who are to be photographed. I ask this because I like to focus all of my attention on your child and, quite simply, the distractions can limit the success of the portrait session. I ask that you please honor this policy. On the day of the portrait session you will be asked to pay the remainder of the session fee. This payment must be made before the session begins. Please make checks payable to Abby Cope. Please, no sick children. We can always reschedule.
The studio reserves the right to reuse images and or reproductions for display, publication or other purposes. All photographic images remain the property of Abby Cope Photography. All photographs, art prints, etc. will be ready 4-6 weeks from the time of ordering. You will receive a phone call letting you know when your order is complete. Please wait for your phone call. All of Abby’s products are custom made. Due to this there are NO refunds.
